Here's a list of questions potential members like to have answers to before auditioning:
What does World Gone Mad play on?
We play on brass and percussion instruments. If you don't own you own instrument contact us for availability.
What kind of gigs does WGM play? From the traditional to the weird!
Does World Gone Mad march or compete?
No. WGM is designed to be a part-time experience. Marching and competing requires an almost full-time commitment.
Plus this is Texas and it's regularly over 100 degrees in the summer.
How often does WGM rehearse and perform?
On average we rehearse or perform two or three days a month. Our busiest seasons are Spring and Fall.
We manage our rehearsal and performance schedule according to the Effort-to-Gig principle.
It's not unheard of for a drum corps type group to rehearse over 300 hours a year and end up performing for less than 2,000 people combined. That’s an Effort-to-Gig ratio of 6 fans per 1 hour of rehearsal. Our goal is to effectively rehearse in as short a period of time as possible and perform for the largest crowds possible in and around Austin.
How much is this going to cost me?
Less than one endzone ticket to a single UT football game.
